New Study To Begin For Adoptive/Foster Parents

As an adoptive mom myself, I am always looking for resources to help me be a better mom. I don't think this is just because our family was created through adoption, I think all mom's are always looking for resources to help them be a "better" mom. We want to do all that we can to help our children succeed in life. We want to help them grow in their knowledge of Christ. We want to teach them all that we can before they leave home.

I don't think I am alone in this. This is why I am very excited about an upcoming study we are having at Henderson Hills Baptist Church. The book we will be studying is "The Connected Child", by Karyn Purvis. This study is geared to bring hope and healing to your adoptive or foster family. It is designed to help parents correct and connect with their children.
It will help equip parents with practical methods to build stronger bonds and more nurturing relationships with their children. It brings hope to families while empowering them to thrive. Amber Given, Licensed Counselor and Director of Peppers Ranch will lead us through "The Connected Child" Book and Workbook. The workbook was co-authored by Karyn Purvis and Michael and Amy Monroe. The Monroe's lead an adoption and foster care ministry called "Tapestry" at Irving Bible Chapel in Irving Texas. They are also adoptive parents.

The class will be on Saturday nights at Henderson Hills from 6:45 - 8:00pm. It will begin on February 5th for 5 weeks. You can contact me for more information at shettrons@aol.com. Childcare will be provided.
